The baddie behind the sparkle
Hi, I'm Elizabeth G'Sell, LMFT
Before neuroscience, I was a manic pixie dream girl for 20 years in entertainment — a Grammy-noted songwriter featured in ABC, NBC & the Discovery Channel, a fashion designer featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and The New York Times, a professional dancer who performed with the St. Louis hip hop scene when Nelly, Chingy & J-Kwan were putting St. Louis on the map & in Los Angeles with My Chemical Romance & Korn. I've also been a vocalist for EDM, folk, pop music with a girl group & through the coast of California as a sound bath singer. I've crossed 30+ countries as a cosmopolite, always chasing the creative, the quirky, the whimsical — nothing mundane. Yet my spirit longed for more than Tinseltown's glitter. So I followed the one thread running through every chapter: the spark of creative lifeforce within every being.
Neurosparkling is the maximalist whimsy-maxxing counseling & consulting practice I wish existed back then — built for beautiful beings who've never quite felt like they fit like a puzzle into this wild world who are ready for science-backed tools to stop wondering & lean into the essence of who they truly are in which to flourish within the dynamics of their lives. I believe truth and meaning are like a diamond: multi-faceted, catching light differently depending on how light & shadows dance upon it. As human beings, we all carry the same universal experiences — joy, sorrow, loss, love — but how we make meaning of them is deeply personal. I find the grace in each person's truth, and I'm here to support you live yours, fully.
As an existential therapist with a holistic approach to psychotherapy, I'm all in on creating a safe, empowering space — one built on unconditional regard. My work is supporting clients to break down the systemic and interpersonal walls standing between them and their authentic self, their intuition, their own voice — so they can build a future that aligns with their values.
Good therapy starts with good training, and my clients deserve a provider who is clinically sharp and practicing within their scope. I'm a decade into my neuroscience journey & am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a PhD candidate in Clinical Sexology — a lifelong student, because growth doesn't have a finish line. Trained in ACT, DBT, CBT, and ERP, interweaving them when it serves the client. My specialties: mind-body connection, women's issues, parenting, therapy for creatives and high achievers, post-traumatic growth, sex therapy, eating disorders, LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergence, life transitions, CNM and poly/kink-informed & relationships. Clients tell me it's the mix of empathy, expertise, humor, and zero pretense that makes it work — supporting them to lean into their own agency to create the life of their dreams.
"Beyond her professionalism, Elizabeth's warmth, kindness, and positive personality make her an absolute pleasure to work with. She builds strong relationships across teams and organizations, which greatly enhances collaboration and ultimately benefits the patients we serve. Elizabeth cares deeply about the work she does and is committed to ensuring that every patient gets the highest quality of care."
"How do I describe Elizabeth G'Sell? Brilliant comes to mind first. I've never known anyone with as much drive, compassion, talent, empathy, positivity, kindness. If you have the opportunity to work with her or for her... bring your sunglasses because she shines the brightest in everything she does."

How do I begin?
Your complimentary 10 minute consultation call is basically a vibe check — for both of us. At Neurosparkling, your autonomy and agency matter, and that means being real about informed consent from minute one. Here's the truth: no website (however sparkly) can tell you if a therapist is the right fit — that's a real-human, real-conversation kind of decision, which is exactly what the consultation is for.
Once it's a yes, you'll get intake paperwork and our practice policies sent straight to your inbox. Knock those out before we meet — that first appointment is your intake session, where we get into your story: your history, what you're hoping to get out of this, and the goals that shape a treatment plan built entirely around you.
From there, we keep checking in. Growth isn't linear, and neither is good care — so as you evolve, your plan does too. No cookie-cutter approach here, just a process designed to actually fit your brain, your life, your pace.
What's the investment?
Our fee is an energetic exchange & our rates align with the offering.
- $285 for individuals and $330 for couples, families, and co-parenting. All appointments are 50 minutes.
Therapy packages — I offer a courtesy rate for those who bundle their sessions, placing payment in advance:
- 3 sessions: $800 individual / $900 couples, family & co-parenting
- 6 sessions: $1,500 individual / $1,700 couples, family & co-parenting
- 10 sessions: $2,400 individual / $2,600 couples, family & co-parenting

How soon will I notice a difference?
Early on, expect small wins — sharper self-awareness, catching your own thought spirals before they catch you. The bigger shifts show up later. Real talk: it can get harder before it gets easier — a storm-before-the-calm stretch as we excavate the stuff that's actually been running the show. There's no universal timeline here; it depends on what you're working with, what you're working toward, & how deep you're willing to go. Research says 12 to 16 sessions gets you real, measurable change — but most people doing the deep work stick around for 20 to 30+ sessions for lasting change.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. Give me 48 hours' notice and we'll find a new time — no penalty, unbothered, all good.
Do you take insurance?
Short answer: no — but here's the upside. We run self-pay, which means I keep a smaller caseload & can actually focus on you instead of insurance red tape. You cover the session fee & payment happens before we meet. The silver lining: depending on your plan, your insurer might reimburse you a percentage afterward through your out-of-network benefits — worth a quick call to them to ask what's covered. If that's you, I've got you: I'll send over a superbill (a detailed invoice) so you can submit it for reimbursement.
